About Us

Our story

Hi! I’m Baxter! Thanks for taking some time to check out Carwash Country. I started this site after a few long weekends washing and detailing my truck in North Carolina; I decided to document all the knowledge I accumulated so I could help others save time.

It all started around the age of 16, when I became obsessed with learning how to wash and wax my first car. There’s just something about taking pride in whatever you have at that age. I’ve never been a perfectionist that enjoys spending an entire weekend with a polisher…but I do enjoy cranking up some music and giving my vehicle a nice wash. A clean car looks better, but it seems to drive better too. That may not make sense…but it feels that way to me.

My first big project was a C5 Corvette that I discovered while in college. This was not your typical well-kept vette, but one that had been sitting on the side of the road for months with dried grass, dirt, and peeling paint all over the hood. The inside was worse. It was completely trashed with (more) grass everywhere, old maps of Florida in the trunk, and a dash covered in dust. Needless to say, I got a good deal on it.

Over the course of the next few months, I slowly began cleaning it up. From taking the seats out in order to shampoo the carpet, to re-painting the hood, to buying a bunch of cleaning products, it became my weekend project. At the end of it, I really couldn’t believe the job my dad and I were able to do on a car I thought had very little potential when seeing it for the first time.

A couple of years later I started Carwash Country to document everything and it’s been an incredible journey ever since.

How we’re different

At Carwash Country, we produce content with actual people in mind. As a business owner, I appreciate artificial intelligence and it has its place in certain contexts, but all our articles at Carwash Country are written for humans, by humans

At Carwash Country, we always aim to be authentic by sharing real experiences. Finding helpful information can be difficult online with so much clutter, obvious fluff, and websites that exist with the goal of simply getting users to click or purchase something.

We owe it to every reader to produce something of value with every post, not just for financial gain. And we try to present this information in a delightful, easy-to-consume format. While proceeds from links and our courses help keep the lights on, I’m just a guy that likes to see people enjoy their car wash sessions as much as I do.

Our mission

Our mission at Carwash Country is to help people gain confidence in their car wash and detailing ability and see better results. I wanted Carwash Country to be more than just a summary of Amazon reviews, littered with links to low-quality products. Unfortunately, there are a lot of websites that promote certain products just to cash in on high commission rates.

We’re a small team that gives recommendations the way we would to a friend. Sometimes we present a few options, other times just one. Sometimes one product is the best choice for a particular problem…so we’ll stop there. No need for 53 vacuum recommendations!

At the end of the day, my personal mission is that I will serve others (using content, conversations, and interactions), with the goal to point others to God’s love. A love that sent Christ to bridge the gap that separates a holy God from sinners like me.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35

Until next time,

-Baxter
