My Story

Hi! I’m Baxter! Thanks for taking some time to check out my website. I grew up in a small town in North Carolina where I currently live, work, and play, and decided to start this site out of my love for cars and wanting to help people like me find the answers they’re looking for.

It all started around the age of 16, when I became obsessed with learning how to wash and wax my first car. There’s just something about taking pride in whatever you have at that age. I’m not a clean freak by any stretch when it comes to vehicles, but I do enjoy cranking up some music and spending a couple of hours on my truck on Saturdays.

My first big project was a C5 Corvette that I discovered while in college. This was not your typical well-kept vette, but one that had been sitting on the side of the road for months with dried grass, dirt, and peeling paint all over the hood. The inside was worse. It was completely trashed with (more) grass everywhere, old maps of Florida in the trunk, and a dash covered in dust. Needless to say, I got a good deal on it.

Over the course of the next few months, I slowly began cleaning it up. From taking the seats out in order to shampoo the carpet, to re-painting the hood, to buying a bunch of cleaning products, it became my weekend project. At the end of it, I really couldn’t believe the job my dad and I were able to do on a car I thought had very little potential when seeing it for the first time.

My Mission

All of this brings me to where I’m at today. Whether it’s myself, or contributors on Carwash Country, my goal is to provide unique and content that is actually helpful! I wanted Carwash Country to be more than just a summary of reviews on Amazon, littered with links and buttons (which unfortunately is the case with so many websites these days).

For me personally, my ultimate mission is that Carwash Country is that it will allow me to serve others through content, conversations, and interactions I have with those I interact with, with the ultimate goal being to reflect Christ and God’s love for mankind who sent his Son to die for our sins.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35

How We’re Different

One of the ways I try to be different is by producing content that is actually helpful, authentic, and unique, based on my experiences and research. Finding helpful information can be difficult online with so much clutter, obvious fluff, and websites that exist with the goal to simply get users to click or purchase something.

I owe it to every reader to produce something of value with every post, not just for financial gain. While proceeds from ads, links, or other offers do help this site, I’m a car enthusiast that just likes to help people out at the end of the day.

I’m by no means an expert auto detailer, but enjoy researching new tricks and techniques to try out on my truck.  As this site continues to progress, I look forward to helping you find a few solutions for your next project!
